Poduyane was the first village annexed to Sofia (1895) — today a district of the Hadzhi Dimitar, Suhata Reka, Stefan Karadzha and Levski V and G quarters. Metro line 3 reaches Hadzhi Dimitar and is being extended into Levski, while prices stay among the most affordable east of the centre.
Poduyane district occupies north-east Sofia — around 77,000 residents on 11 sq. km. The village of Poduyane, mentioned as early as 1453, was the first to be annexed to the capital, in 1895.
Hadzhi Dimitar and Suhata Reka mix blocks with older houses, Stefan Karadzha and Levski V and G are the 1980s panel estates, and the Levski quarter keeps its house-lined character. The Georgi Asparuhov stadium — home of Levski Sofia — is the district's emblem.
Metro line 3 currently terminates at Hadzhi Dimitar station, and its three-station extension into the Levski quarter is under construction, expected to open in 2026. Trams and buses complete the links to the centre, 10–15 minutes away. The market offers some of the most affordable apartments east of the centre — with growth potential as the metro extends.
