Nadezhda is Sofia's north-western residential district — the Nadezhda 1–4, Svoboda, Tolstoy and Triagalnika estates plus Iliyantsi and Trebich. Metro line 2 links it to the centre in minutes, and prices remain among the most affordable in the city.
Nadezhda district occupies Sofia's north-west — around 68,000 residents on 19 sq. km. Named in 1924 after Princess Nadezhda, today it combines large housing estates with industrial zones to the north.
Nadezhda 1, 2, 3 and 4, Svoboda, Tolstoy and Triagalnika are the panel estates that shaped the district, while Iliyantsi and Trebich keep a lower, semi-rural character. The northern industrial zone hosts pharmaceutical and light-industry plants.
Metro line 2 crosses the district with Han Kubrat, Nadezhda, Beli Dunav and Lomsko Shose stations — the centre is 10–15 minutes away. North Park is the neighbourhood's green lung. The market offers some of the most affordable metro-connected apartments in Sofia — which is why the district draws more and more young buyers and buy-to-let investors.
