Izgrev is one of Sofia's greenest districts — parks and gardens cover around 42% of its territory. The Iztok, Dianabad and Izgrev quarters border Borisova Gradina and gather 17 embassies, the TV Tower and some of the calmest residential streets within easy reach of the centre.
Izgrev district occupies Sofia's south-eastern inner city with the quarters Iztok, Dianabad and Izgrev — around 31,000 residents on 5 sq. km. Parks and green space cover roughly 42% of the territory, a record among the capital's inner districts.
Iztok is the traditional quarter of diplomats and academics — home to 17 foreign embassies, the Interpred World Trade Centre and the TV Tower in Borisova Gradina. Dianabad mixes panel-era blocks with newer brick buildings, while the small Izgrev quarter keeps a quiet residential feel among the greenery.
The district borders Borisova Gradina and the Diana sports complex, and its economy is built on services, trade and finance — unemployment here is traditionally among the lowest in the country. Dragan Tsankov and Tsarigradsko Shose boulevards and the nearby M1 metro stations give quick links to the centre and Business Park Sofia. Buyers look for apartments both in Iztok's established blocks and in Dianabad's newer buildings.
